right, so i'm really thinking of making use of an escort's service sometime.

Maybe go through an agency? Can't say as I know anything about it really but in Durbs there's a couple in city ( Galaxy etc ) which are "massage parlours and escourt services". They would have to maintain some type of rep so chances of getting scammed would be lower.
