Injured off duty
I was at a braai at my sister's place last night. I walked to go inside in the house and she has 3 steps, but the last one is probably as long as two of them combined.
I had my slops on. I stepped and just went to the ground. It felt like many air bubbles popped on my left leg (like when you crackle your fingers) and my right toe hurt like hell.
Safe to say, my sister and her husband rushed me to hospital, had an injection and took some xrays.
My left leg, near my foot, 2 or 3 ligaments are off and my right toe is broken.
Doctor booked me off for 7 days.
My question. Since I have the doctors note, would my employer be hard on me because I'm not at work, or can I relax about the issue?
Also, doc said it would take about 2 weeks for my right toe to feel better, but that I'd always have problems with it, because it's fractured right on the top joint. Would actually hopping on the right leg, since I can't step on the left cause more damage?
What would be the easiest method of moving around in your opinion? The hopping thing is quite strenuous
Also, I don't have medical, so it was a shocker knowing the whole exercise including the brace for my leg was just under a thousand bucks
