I to tell my roommate and friend I'm moving out?

I do wanna give him enough time to look for someone yes, but if I need to move in April that gives him half the month to look for someone else and I'm gonna feel like a sack of ****.

I do agree however that you have to lookout for yourself, but we all different and I'm the type of guy who beats himself up over stuff like this.

he can take you to court for not giving notice period, even though you don't have a contract. if i was him, i would hit for the max. you say he's a great friend and you love him like a brother, but you can't tell him that you are moving out? who needs enemies when he has friends like you.

Did you even read my posts? I will obviously give him notice, I only became aware of the opportunity to move yesterday.

Give notice to the guy meaning explain the situation to him. He can start putting classified ads and do interviews or whatever it takes.

If you can't make the switch then there's plenty guys on this forum willing to "move" in with her...

Sounds like you are moving for the wrong reasons.

Or maybe the right reasons, but certainly not the same reasons you listed for us above.
