Do you not have the ADH warranty?
If it's less than 24 months since he got it, he can still register for it.

Things like this make me thankful for my Z3 Compact, which took a nice swim after a freak wave and came out fine. Extra careful now around the sea though, ziplock bags help.
What is ADH?
Now 35 days old.
After watching you tube on how to open it, I decided against it.
True, and Sony explicitly states no actual protection in the case of seawater, so I expected at least speaker or 3.5mm port damage, but somehow got lucky. I do wonder though in the case of fresh water, did people make sure their protective flaps were closed?Too bad not everyone's Z3 or Z3 compact has proven as water resistant.
Some have had stories like yours with no issues. But the internet is also full of reports of it not surviving it's initial contact with water, or the speakers losing all their oomph after that, or the phone surviving a couple of contacts with water fine and then being completely dead after again being in water.
About a year ago my S3 went for a swim when my drunken friend pushed my drunken self into the pool.
Flash also went on and off a few times. I took the phone apart, and left it in the sun for a day. Worked fine afterwards :erm:
What I recall is me unlocking the screen lock underwater. :wtf:
I did that with my S5 some months ago, it survived fine![]()
S5 is water proof as long as you close the charging flap
How is this going OP?
