Hydrogen also has an influence on the metallic structure of any storage vessel used for it. It causes brittleness and cracks to form. Want to find that out during a car collision?
Correct, but it is a known materials science problem. If you know you are going to be storing hydrogen, you can design around it.

And even then, if you can't solve the materials science problem, you can pretty much change it into a maintenance problem by requiring the tank to be changed after 15 years.

Replacing the fuel delivery systems in a hydrogen car would be orders of magnitude cheaper than replacing the battery on an EV.

Except that green hydrogen will take 3 Eskoms worth of power to produce...

Great fuel idea for a place like Germany where you are required by law to change your tyres twice a year no matter the wear and you can't even buy brake pads in a spares shop because the installer has to note the change in your vehicle log book. Then there is the yearly MOT for cars older than 3 years...

Now, do you want Sipho in his hydrogen fuelled taxi that has a vice grip for a steering wheel having a collision with you?
