Avoid starches and sugars, eat lean meat, lots of veggies, keep cheese and dairy products to a minimum. Drink lots of water.

This alone will reduce your appetite and help you lose weight.

Starches and sugar increase your appetite.

3kg a week is dangerous!!! you know of course after the diet you gonna be picking it up double?

I say its a lifestyle and if you don't eat properly its just going to jump back... and you are also gonna have fat rolls because you are losing so much weight in such a fast period...

+1

The slower you lose it, the more you give your body a chance to adapt, skin will tigthen up, and you're be creating a new habbit of eating less, it will stick.

Nope I won't be picking it up, I'm now back at my normal weight levels after pigging out last winter on Bounty chocolates and chips,
I had given up smoking lol

Now I maintain my weight by eating 3/4 small meals a day, I don't fry any foods, except an egg once or twice a month.

I don't eat beef more than twice a month, I don't eat lamb more than 4 times a year.

I gave up cheese too, except feta in salads now and then.

you might end up looking for trouble that could have stayed.
check out these (sponsored by abbot for their drug called reductil): http://www.decisions.co.za
also from that site check out the sample eating plan.

E X E R C I S E!!! :D
losing weight is 70% diet and 30% exercise. (well i made the stats up, but you cant have the one without the other):p

No for pete sakes. It does not require a lot of dedication. It's just stupid to try and lose weight in a week. There are no quick fixes to losing weight and i cannot believe there are people on here who give out such stupid advice.

It's also not healthy to do that dablakmark8. Google has a wealth of information on quick diets to drop weight over a couple of days. Doesn't mean it's medically advised to do this. You will put strain on your organs/body by pretty much starving yourself. Secondly, you are more inclined to put on weight after losing it as you can only hold out so long and your body stores whatever you put in your mouth as fat because it's not sure when it's going to get fed again.

The correct way to lose weight believe it or not is to eat more regularly and eat smaller portions of healthy foods. This speeds up your metabolism and aids your body in burning fat faster. Also, you have to include exercise into any healthy diet as eating celery sticks and not exercising is not going to get you anywhere.

Depends on how active you are. Eat less Kilo Jouls than you use per day.
Artificial sugars in diet drinks and sweets make you hungry. New study.
Diet Coke and Tab makes you fat. All the people I have seen drinking this have all been fat.

Trying to lose 3kg per week, is not realistic; rather try for 500g!

not to mention unhealthy, losing 3kg/week would put strain of your liver and kidneys. Not to mention the fact that when you burn off that much fat you get bad breathe( I mean terrible!) because your body turns fat into kitones(sp?) and that does smell nice.

you can induce many complications too. But if you lose weight that fast your body is going to think "oh shyte, I'm not gonna get enough food, so lets turn all the food you eat into fat" so that means that you might be able to lose that weight, but the moment you start eating normally, you body turns all that excess food into fat and bam, you overweight once again and will probably gain more weight...

The best way to lose weight is to get off your fat arse and jog daily, work out and eat 6 small meals will the same amount of calories as whats recommended by dietitians. It's a slow process but you end up having more energy then before and you feel great.

I just wonder what you gonna do when you lost your weight. are you gonna go back to eating everything you see? you going to continue "eating healthy" (which you're not doing by trying to lose 3kg/week). my guess is you'll end up ketotic and irritable, with low energy levels, lovely sagging skin - which you'll fill up again fairly quickly. yoyo dieting is def not recommended.

One of the things that disturbs me about this thread is the fact that he bears no mention to the exercise he does. You cannot eat healthy and expect to lose weight. Exercise is vital and should be a given for all individuals.

I absolutely refuse to excersize..I have quit smoking and am dieting like crazy so no way..only joking, I go to gym 3 times a week and do weights for about 45 mins at a time. My weight gain started in my late 20's . I did body building when I was a student and when the career bug bit I gave it up. So yes 20 years later I have a serious whiskey boep that needs sculpting..I can't enjoy lapdances anymore...it gets in the way, can't tie laces properly etc etc

See a dietitian and stop asking advice on forums.

My wife is going to see one next week that a friend of ours used and she has lost mega kg's since December. They are cheap, R400 and worth it. Many factors influence what and how much you should eat and only a professional can advise you.
