They are developing a new game called Prison Architect. Now this looks super awesome. I have played the Alpha and it still needs a lot of work but it looks like it is going to be amazing.
Been an avid fan of Introversion since the day I discovered Uplink back in the day. Got a boxed copy of most of their games and even a few extra that are still sealed - Kalahari had them for cheapcheap. I realized with quite a sock last night after I posted that the alpha was out already. Got my hands on Alpha 2 asap and gave it a whirl. At this stage it is beyond my expectations - there are so many game mechanics that I never thought of! I suspect that it will take quite a while (12months +) for them to finish the game properly but that it will be worth it. I am also quite chuffed and proud that such a 'small' company was able to earn R3 100 000 + on an alpha pre-order in under 4 weeks.
Curse is scary at times, all depends on your mood. IGI was an instant hit with me - still got both 1 and 2 around here somewhere. Was challenging but fun. Same with Simcity. It is quite a challenging game. The trick is to start small and grow from there. In that sense I am quite worried that the new SimCity '5' due out next year will be too easy in a way.
By the way, there is nothing wrong with just wreaking havoc with your city. I sometimes build long and extensive road networks that span the entire map ... so that residents have a time-incentive to use my speedy overly-tolled highways/avenues. They are financially screwed, and hate my guts, but it is fun!
