I would be better off using a 56k dial up modem

Over the last few months 8ta has been getting worse and worse and worse...

This evening I kept timing out while trying to do speed tests on speedtest.net so I tried toast.net which old timers will remember from the late 90's and early 2000's

Well downloading 340781 bytes of text took 62.142 seconds ie throughput of 44k (the range for 33.6 dial up is 34-54k)
a 414161 byte jpeg took 67.384 seconds ie throughput of 49k

Later I was able to do a few tests on speedtest.net

When I started with 8ta I had an 85% signal strength (as given by my router) and was getting 8-10Mbp/s downloads and 5-7Mbp/s uploads and was more than happy, this resulted in my getting 3 of the 10gig 199/month promotions. Now the thing is so slow I can't use it.

Signal strength now varies between 22-45% and speeds between 0.05Mb/s to 1.2Mb/s download and 0.04Mb/s to 1.0Mb/s upload and generally far closer to the lower limit than the upper one

3 months of complaining via 8ta's call center resulted in them sending a technician around who informed me it was a network problem (I'd already told them this) which would be fixed in March 2014 +)_#%$^&*! However he said he would escalate it to the network people as he only came to see if my stuff was set up correctly. He said they could probably add a new cell to the tower (I personally think the problem is that they deactivated the tower I was using)

About 6 weeks later I'm luckily not holding my breath...

Sorry for the rant but some enterprises have no conception of the thing called customer service

The attached images show speedtest.net downloads from 0.04 to 0.05 Mb/s and 0.05 to 0.09 Mb/s uploads

I know how you feel ...

When I first got the 8ta promo contract I was getting -73dbm signal strength and was averaging 5mbps+...

Starting last year December the QoS and my signal started to play up (signal jumped to a min of -87dbm) meaning that when I was downloading even the smallest of files at my pathetic max of 1.5mbps I couldnt browse at all ... opening 2 downloads at once resulted in both timing out ...

After months of complaining 8ta finally installed an antenna on my property and that fixed my reception problems and gave me my avg down speed of 5+ again but then my upload was around 10mbps which was very odd ... a few weeks after my antenna the problem started again ...

Max speed of 1.5mbps with upload speeds of 3.5mbps ... sigh

8ta says it has been escalated but nothing yet ... which is pathetic if you consider how they have "given" me an expensive antenna to try help ...
