Hi,

I'm trying to connect to SGS (Saix game servers) using Iburst. I'm not getting any joy. Tracert results below. It seems that there is a network issue, its certainly not the wireless part of the connection that's giving grief. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks, Tracert follows:

The ip addresses of the Saix Game Servers are blocked.
i.e ICMP gets blocked by their firewall.

You need to use the game server browser to check latency, or get a 3rd party "server checker".

Somedays I can play fine on the SGS servers. Other days the latency is far too high.
But I am normally able to play on a server.

Ok

Thanks for the info. I'm looking for a "server checker" as we speak :)

On a good night 80 ms.
Normal is about 110 - 200 ms.
Can spike up to unusable at time.

It works great as long as there is no packet loss!

it depends on ur tower. in my opinion they overload the centurion tower since sometimes it blanks out completely (no signal, orange light) for 1 sec then back to 5 strenght. then also when playing the signal strength drops to 3 then 5 every few seconds, even though im constantly transferring bandwidth. ofcourse this is typical (hence sentech, telkom) but hey, welcome to south africa. :\
