I've had my IBurst for about 6 months now, and eveything was fine untill about a week ago. It stays connected for about 1-5 minutes and just disconnects???? I loaded IConnect C# and saw that I had a 4/10 signal, but it was allways fine???

Anybody else got this issue? Please help......

Cheers

Try moving your UTD around finding the elusive sweet spot. Or buy/make an antenna. I connect to both wonderboom/sunnyside and have no disconnect problems.

Hmmm... its a pity you don't have previous records. Generate the HTML files and look for the disconnections do you notice a basestation change? Move the UTD as such to increase the signal of the tower you think is better.
Try the do it yourself arial or you can look at http://www.phoenixnet.co.za
they got a great arial.

I also suggest a download of uotrace google it. type in www.iburst.co.za as address go test link then click poll and try get the two counters on the right to flow continuously, in sync and the faster the better. This usually happens when your signal strength is better, but not always. Try balance this signal quality measure and the signal strength measure

They sometimes adjust the angle of their arials it seems. Congestion could also cause this but remember the tower gives preferance to the utd it can see better, and in my opinion in some cases this is why you get disconnected/tower swaped.

I'm also getting disconnected lately (Centurion), and it happens too frequently for my liking.

Fix it!

Not going to wait anymore. Sick and tired of iBurst! Ordered ADSL today... Hopefully, I'll have it installed before 2010.

Thanks for all the help guys!! What I have noticed on IConnect is I have 2 towers with very similar signal strenghts. Wonderboom and "Unknown nr 5", anybody knows what/where tower nr 5 is in PTA? Is seems like my Iburst keeps on switching between these 2 towers, and everytime it switches it disconnects - is this normal.

Made myself a lan powered cable yesterday, so I'll be walking around on the roof tonight to try and get a good signal..... By the way, what is a good signal, I average around -89db on the 2 towers..

Cheers

Sounds like you are roaming on a Voadcom tower, lol, ;)
Vodacom has been dropping people like there is no tommorow
