please help me with my problem i have been a subscriber for more than a year
now with iburst in fact istarted when they were still in the rolling out stage.

my problem is that i am not getting a good throughput at all. 6-9 kilobytes per sec is about the same as a normal telkom line so why am i paying a premium price for a internet connection that is no good.

i am at a stage where i am thinking of changing to a adsl line as the price is a little more for a whole lot more.

this is my last ditch attempt to try and fix my problems with iburst as i have spoken on numerous times with my isp about this and they never come back to me

i live in the florida park area and my isp (wbs) told me there was a tower going up near to me so i have been waiting but to no avail.

how can i fix my problem or do i just pack it in and go for a 1024 adsl line??

I downloaded over 750MB of international content in under 2 hours last night. So everyone's experience varies.

In order to get help or tips from other users, you need to provide far more detail. Is it 6-9 kilobytes all the time? Even late at night? Do you have a UTD or UTC? How many LED's light up? Do you use USB or Ethernet to connect to the modem? What is your MTU setting?

There is a Florida Base Station. You can locate it on the Network Coverage maps on www.iburst.co.za. What colour (signal strength) is your home shown as?

Have you tried an external antenna? Have you experiemented with the location of your modem? Have you run uTraceStar or IConnect to test for signal strength?

And the list can go on...

EDIT: Sorry, wrong about the Florida BS. It is still only planned, but the website does give the planned coverage.
