There are USB to pcmcia adapters, but unfortunalty they do not work on 3G, sentech and iburst cards - so get a new laptop

What about the Vodacom PCI - pcmcia adaptor?? I understand they are available from Vodashops - you will have test it though.

@davej - sorry was'nt thinking. The PCI card will obviously not work in yr laptop.
@i-Guru - do you suggest an external antenna even though my UTC gives 100% signal on my laptop? In other words is there signal degradation from using the Voda PCMCIA adaptor on a desktop?

well with regards to using the PCMCIA adapter, most people shove their computer behind the desk and on the floor, which does hamper signal strength, install utTracestar, and check it out....
Also remmember that the UTC only pushes put 100mW power, where the UTD pushes out 333mW power, so i would not use a UTC at all, unless i was within 3km of the tower
