Since I could not access international websites using the office telkom adsl... I decided to take the modem from soweto where it was stable hoping to get access to international websites in Town... Boy was I wrong... the modem kept going on and off in 10 seconds intervals. the signal was full.. What could have been the problem, Could it be the modem or the location. I was in Braamfontein, Second floor. did not have IConnect to see the tower.

If you connected to the tower in town (Sanlam Centre I believe) you got pretty much what 5 of my other town customers are getting ....

Signal seems full but things just die ....

How long has this been going on with your customers and how did you solve it or there is pretty much no solution for it.

Had the same problems in Sandton today..27th October... looked at the "status" picture and all was green. I was convinced that the problem was on my network... a few hours later phoned the helpdesk and was told "there is a problem with the towers disconnecting users all the time - its been happening since monday"... no problems on the benoni tower tho ;-)

People using the sandton tower at night do they experince the same problems as those who use it during the day, when there is a lot to business users?

Gys... I went to an internet cafe a block from me in Braamfontein... the guy uses 32 computers on his cafe and he has lots of accesspoints and sfuff like that.. I noticed he uses iburst as well... I was talking to him about some marketing and I noticed that his IBURST was not reseting at all... maybe there is a problem whith the UTD...

Two of the three customers in town I had, were moved over to DSL too, as Regardtv did.

My other is getting disconnects regularly, but they're not too serious a client (mostly email) so they don't actually notice.

You are indeed wrong. There's a building well-known as "Sanlam centre" in Jhb, that used to house Absa's Treasury.
