Icasa releases lower 6GHz Wi-Fi spectrum

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) announced on Tuesday that it has effectively opened the lower 6 GHz spectrum band for Wi-Fi services.

Icasa explained the lower 6 GHz frequency band refers to the radio frequency range of 5925–6425 MHz, as allocated in the National Radio Frequency Plan.

Is this the last step needed from government? Can importers now go and get WiFi 6E equipment certified?

Doesn't help if the rain/mtn/vodacom units shipped attempt to swamp by default 160Hz on every unit they sell.

A cr@ppy signal delivering less than 20mbs is never going to run 1gbs. Bliksem!!!!!!!

Would be nice if we could use it...
Samsung? Ubiquiti?
When are you planning to update your firmware to allow this in SA?
