Icasa and SAPS raid StarSat

What gives icuntsa and SAPS the right to break and enter private property? There was no crime commited here by StarSat..

Starsat gave them 7 months.

Isucka facing a multi billion lawsuit, and let me guess, as part of that settlement they'll magically be able to "consider" the extension now.
I bet.

Seems a bit rash for them considering they never do any kind of showboating of this sort.

Well I reckon ICasa has got hell now cause technically operation in SA should only have been stopped but now to have removed content from the rest of Africa... I think Starsat wanted this route all along

Goodbye StarSat

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa), along with officers from the South African Police Service, has raided pay-TV broadcaster StarSat's headquarters to remove its broadcasting equipment.

This comes after StarSat refused to cease operations in the country after being instructed to do so by the regulator. Icasa previously warned that it would shut down StarSat itself if the broadcaster failed to comply.
Amazing how quick LEA is when you have cadres and bribes behind you....

Who slipped a stack of greasy notes for ICASA to do a thing?
Is there anybody to gain from ICASA playing hard ball with StarSat?

As I have already said, Starsat need to move out of this country and start again where they are actually welcome. South Africa is most definitely not at the top of ANY heap.

Good point and good strategy it would be if they did want this. Would give them some much needed leverage at the courts.
