Icasa is playing with fire with termination rates, says MTN CEO

It can only cause serious damage to their profit margins. They will have to get over it, they have all been screwing us for far too long.

F*** you scumbag. I hope they do serious damage to the industry as well as your profits. F*** MTN. No doubt Vodascum will also come out soon with a pity story about the impact it will have on the industry

I commented having first read this article on Techcentral but somehow missed this..

can result in poor network quality and even lead to communication blackouts,

WTF?!?!?..is that?

ICASA don't back down, MTN and Voda are doing emotional blackmail and they have been racking billions of Rand through MTR now we want the playing field to be equal

so lets remove all MTR regulations in play and have Vodacom and MTN refund Telkom the money they extracted by regulation from Telkom and let the Comp Comm deal with their predatory pricing

The MNOs cannot have it both ways

I mean, what's the problem of a sudden reduction in mobile termination rate causing serious damage to the industry...

Or else you are a MTN supporter and think ICASA is trying to blackmail MTN for bigger bribes :p

LOL, MTN are trying to blackmail ICASA with "the poor"

And the consumers had to foot the bill when the MTRs were increased manyfold a few yers ago?

Dear Zunaid Bulbulia.

Playing the Eskom card just smacks of desperation, like if you feel the need to resort to blackmail to make a profit you should consider politics 'cos you sure as hell ain't fit to run your business.

Regards,
EB

Why start b!tching now... the glide path was ready published by ICASA ages ago. I can't see this as anything else but a threat from MTN... take away our sweetie money and we're going to punish the customers! Not very tactful!

So presumably in other markets in which MTN has a stake they do not invest in network infrastructure because of the low MTR?
