This is terrible news for the public. Way to go ICASA, not!

I read an article the other day that commented on how the government moved to limit the powers of the regulators (in general) after a 2rds majority, cant find it now but it was most interesting.
Our regulators are powerless against government controlled entities.

Why don't the ANC just change their name to the National African Party....then we can also refer to them as the NATS....

This followed a statement by the SABC that Icasa was neither within its jurisdiction nor legally competent to issue a subpoena for the report. The committee did not give its reasons for the ruling. However, chairwoman Puli Moloto-Stofile told Business Day that the ruling was not based on the committee’s lack of legal competence or jurisdiction. “We would be well within our jurisdiction to request the report.”

So !CASA believes it has a legal right to see the report and instead !CASA's response to the SABC's jump request is how high...
