ICASA to hold hearings on cybersecurity

ICASA has announced that it will hold public hearings on feedback it has received on its role and responsibilities in the regulation of cybersecurity.

This follows the publication of a discussion document on the matter, and 13 subsequent submissions from interested stakeholders.

Much needed. Hopefully not too late.

I must have missed the discussion documents.

What's this about?
Cybersecurity is a big field.
Is this the same ss the Australian Law on Encryption mandating back door on encryption?

I dont know. I think its taking the concept of infosec seriously and applying it to all layers of life.

Im hoping stuff like what equipment is been used. What software is been used. Who is creating the hardware and software, what safeguards are there against espionage in those system, who looks after those systems, and what safeguards there are to protect us from malicious actors in this space.

Theres a ton that needs to be done that has not been done well so far.
