Yea it does not mean that someone stood out like a sore thumb, i mean my memory is shocking so i cannot think of any good innings from SA, maybe you guys can recall some real special innings or bowling performances for me.

Uhm, JP Duminy in Aus. Roelof van der Merwe in 1-Day version. I'd list both of these as emerging players candidates. Graeme Smith amassed a fair number of runs as well. And his captaincy is part of playing the game, so I would list him as a Test player of the year candidate as well. Johan Botha with his bowling in the 1-dayers was very impressive as well.

how can JP not be there

166 on his 2nd test, batting when we were deep in sh*t, with the tail....

this sounds like BS to me...

JP did the unbelievable down under, we had some good performances this year . Even Parnell at the T20 WC should have been in nomination for the emerging catergory.

I think Smithy should get the spirt of cricket award himself for his heroics in Aus (batting in the last test with 2 broken hands)!

Did anyone watch BVP last night? saw Klusener on the show.

I used to be his biggest fan :D

pity he and Smith didn't get along, he would have done us good in the pro20's, that game was invented for Klusener

No doubt he was the best oneday batsman/bowler, how many almost lost matches we won becouse of him.
Such a shame. victim of cricket politics.
Could have been good role model for new boys and smith.:)
