ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

Johnson gone and I'm afraid there goes Canada's hope of getting something sort of decent.

Pak won , but this looks interesting now. They better hope not any of USA games are rained out.

NAM 72 all out
AUS 74-1

Australia won by 9 wickets.

SRI vs Nepal -> Match abandoned due to rain.
Three more matches await us in Florida but things don't look promising for those either. Rain and thunderstorms are predicted week long in Florida.

Think Sri Lanka is out...

They would need an incredible stroke of luck for that not to happen. They need:

* Tomorrow's game between BAN and NED to be rained out
* Us to beat Nepal
* To beat NED by a HUUUUGE margin to get their NRR up
* Nepal to squeak past BAN

That way, they all end on three points and it comes down to NRR.

Ireland used to be a really decent team. Wonder what happened to them.

Players retired and not been able to replace them properly. Also their players use to be able to play as locals in county cricket but Brexit stopped that and their local structure is rather weak.

Was there also not a Super 8 stage in the 50 over cricket world cup a few years ago that caused top ranked teams to not qualify due to rain? World cricket then scratched the super 8s for subsequent world cups. Seems they have not learnt their lesson by introducing it again.

No they did the right thing for T20 cricket. If they go with 50 over format they don't include the smaller nations. You can't grow the global game if you don't include the smaller nations in a world cup .

odd choice for a venue then...is the rain unusual for this time of year?
