Relating to the thread about accessing info about your UTD ... This one

Here is a screenshot of the Alpha build I am working on. It's still very raw and not that pretty, but it works like a charm. I want to add alot more features.

1) Full Logging Facility
2) Show Tower Names not just ID
3) Ability to Select an Area, so you get the right tower names. (See I do think about Durbs, KaapStad and Pretoria :) )
4) Gres mentioned the Ping facility.
5) A nice big disclaimer saying "Use at your own risk gents".
6) ..... more stuff, that I haven't thought of yet.

iConnect Alpha Screenshot

I'll keep you updated. BTW, what you think about the name "iConnect" as iSignal treads on ProAsm's toes ?

Good night all.

Just to add to the first post. Once it gets to Beta, there will be a downloadable version :)

I guess you have to have the UTD connected directly to the PC during the test and not through a router or am I wrong?

Well, I'd have to test this, but if you are using a linux box, you could give the Ethernet interface the UTD is on an ip in the 192.168.250.x range and then add an IP on your windows machine so you also have an IP in the 192.168.250.x range, and it will probably run without being connected directly.

Needs to be tested though.

7) Network access to UTD.

A time measurement apparently for one-directional flight of signal according to the UTD help (in microseconds? haven't checked yet, don't know real speed of signal, my tower is 1200 m away if I use 3E8 m/s, actually a bit closer)

I'm sure somebody like Kei can give more accurate speed to use...

I think you are opening a huge can of worms here by using the name "iSignal"
Sould there be a bug, queries or anything in "iSignal" or "MySignal" we are both gonna start getting a hell of a lot of unnecessary emails.
Rather use a name like "iConnect" or "iLogon" or something, else you gonna force me to change the name of "MySignal" which is currently used in several other countries as well and thats gonna be chaos.

I agree, MySignal has been well established, and around for a long time.
Intellectual property should always be respected.
Anything with "Signal" will do nothing but cause confusion, let alone be bordering on unethical.

I wasn't sure whether to ask ProAsm about using the name i(something), but on reflection I should of.
I don't want it to clash with Mysignal. I apologise. No harm intended. I'll change the name to something else.
Sorry Pro.
