They tell me that since my exchange is on a Fiber Optic link, they need to "UPGRADE" it to copper wire - and this will take them forever.
I was always under the impression that Fiber was an upgrade over copper, but it seems that Telkom thinks that going backwards is an UPGRADE.
Imagine if they sold cars - their ads would go something like this:
Roll up, Roll up, for our new advanced transportation devices !
Upgrade your new (enter model name) to our deluxe ox wagon - now with 4 wheels, and best of all - we will only charge you DOUBLE what you paid for your car !
BONUS - no electricity / petrol / diesel needed !
