Vandals damaging electricity infrastructure in Schaapkraal are costing the City of Cape Town R800 000 on average per month.

Those squatters are such idiots! They squat wherever they please and then complain that there is no infrastructure!

Grind them up and feed them to the hungry.

How is this possible? If the city spent 25-50% of that money on security personnel the vandals wouldn't be able to get close.

I would assume that they would have to place a security guard at every single or perhaps every 3 electrical poles if you want to protect every cable, and every connection to every legal paying house,I suspect this affects most municipalities in the country

“We have it on good authority that many of the saboteurs are from the Egoli informal settlement in the area, having declared that as long as they do not have electricity supply, they will continue to disrupt supply to surrounding areas,”

Well that speaks volumes on the maturity of these people....

And that's why they can't have power... because they are costing the council too much to roll out services in their areas.
