If you could pay for a new vehicle with a single credit card swipe - would the dealer let you?

Assuming:

a) your limit was high enough
b) the interest rate was low enough

Would any dealership let you? My feeling is no as card charges would be too high and the dealership would refuse - but in another thread this was deemed a perfectly viable option.

Thoughts?

You can just EFT from your Credit Card. Don't need to swipe.

Nope. The dealer just said they do not have card facilities for payment of tge vehicle, only towards the bank account used for services and parts.

They can and would, but they will add the transaction costs above the purchase price

Ive seen a receipt from someone in SA that bought a BMW on credit card. It can be done, but suppose its dealer dependant

Any possible discount is negated for card fees the merchant will have to pay.

When I did it we had the price fully agreed, paperwork all done and then when it came to payment I asked if I can swipe the CC. The dealer fetched their speedpoint and away we swiped

I once paid the deposit with my credit card after I transferred the amount over from savings to cc.
This was before app banking and proper internet banking with limit changes done on the fly with 2FA.

Dealer did not blink a eye

I've done this twice.

Well, once with a debit card.
