If you could pay for a new vehicle with a single credit card swipe - would the dealer let you?

How is that possible? I have a score of 800 and something and my interest does not look like that. Probably age.
800 out of 705 is pretty darn impressive. They should be paying you to borrow their money

They can and would, but they will add the transaction costs above the purchase price
Visa and Mastercard (probably all others now) have very strict policies on doing this and in many places in the world there are laws that forbid such. Many merchants have arrangements with banks for this very situation where they have a cap on fees and maintain relationships with multiple banks.

I bought a car for R60k with my credit card. They just charged me an extra 1.5% on top for their card fees.

Tho I would think that it would be up to the dealer.

It's clear from the comments here different dealers have different policies. Although, the way these dealers operate they probably wouldn't be too difficult if the sale depended on it.

Tried this when I bought my Captur, dealer refused because they didn’t want to pay the 5% or whatever it was in fees for use of the machine.

EFT’s work.

I had the same problem, but with cash. BMW Sandton did not want to accept R2025990 in cash. I did tell them that they can keep the R10 change. I had to do an EFT instead.

My CC interest rate is cheaper than my sub prime bond my as well swipe this and get ebucks :)

Wow, that's a great rate - here I thought I was doing well at 7%!

I'm guessing you're a PW client?

That's my thought process - pay on CC --> get eBucks --> transfer from bond at 5.85% (and make use of the interest free period).

What is a PW client?

Okay, I slightly over estimated my score. Also 32ish.

Yeah I do the same for my CC for the last decade. Now and then I budget something, like my coffee machine, but I can clear it any moment.

Getting gatvol of renting. So hope to buy in the next year or so (if life doesn't suprise me). Just want to see where my business venture take me.

It sucks to see the crap on the market for sale under 1.5 million, specially as Architects.

It's depressing. Makes me sick.
Barring upgrades our house value is already up 30%. The houses in our area sell in less than 24h. All I can say is don't rush, ignore that saying paying rent is paying someone else's bond. Saving an extra year for example can knock years of a bind repayment
