If you could pay for a new vehicle with a single credit card swipe - would the dealer let you?

You default on something? Pandemic was bad for a lot of people, still wondering how the rent market is doing since background check should be more difficult now in regards to who is a non payer and who just had a bad few months in their job sector.

In regard to original post, paid my car via debit card at the time, was a month before I got my CC approved since FNB kept delaying it even though I earned enough for the next tier. Funny that online application I still can't get approved on capitec when I checked a few months ago for interest sake (can't move since no forex, would need to use third party and not really worth the effort for R50 saving or so).

My dad used CC a few years ago buying his car, that was half a million I think, wasn't an issue.

Mom hasn't bought a new car in 7 years, that was CC I think as well.

I'd do eft nowadays probably since easy enough, I'm just always worried about getting account number wrong or being given a wrong number.

Not me, but my friend did and there were no issues. He also bought an apartment overseas on his SAA Voyager Credit card so that he could get loads of miles. Bet he is kicking himself now

Nah. Only been in the country 9 months. Thin credit history.

I once bought a R80k motorbike like this, the dealer really wasn't happy, but at the end processed it.
