eSIM with free mobile data and airtime launched in South Africa

Ignition Group has launched an eSIM on its mobile virtual network operators (MVNO) uConnect and me&you mobile.

"In a strategic move to drive connectivity and bridge the digital divide, Ignition Group's mobile division has taken a momentous step by offering free eSIMs, as well as access to free data and airtime," the company stated.
 
The ignition group are the imbeciles that run the MTN contract call centres for retentions and some of the new contract divisions. Absolute idiots of note, no clue of what customer service is.

Tried to register. Got as far as taking a photo of my ID after which it tells me my address is invalid.

It accepted the address when I entered it though
 
Ignition are the same scammers that steal your airtime by subscribing you to things. Also responsible for unsolicited telesales calls. Scum of the earth. I'll stay far from anything to do with them. They already seem to have enough info on me. No way I'm giving them a photo of my ID!


Here's one example of an Ignition owned company from MyBB itself:

"Among the allegations against On Air TV were that sales agents claim their decoders would work without an active DStv subscription.

Myriad people have also reported that the company deducted debit orders from their bank accounts even though they don’t have an On Air TV product or were no longer customers."

FAIL on having to now to go to a Click store even though there is one literally 1.5kilometres away , as the sim is electronic then why do I have to go into a store to "collect" , unless the store is doing some in person RICA validation

Did you register for a SIM or eSIM - eSim should not need clicks?

Yep, the same guys that will blatantly lie about MTN contracts to get you to sign up and then once you've signed up they'll screw the contract details up and ignore any requests for assistance.
