Hi guys

So I've decided to give up on netflix for now. They've won the proxy war for now, I think.

What are the options for us in SA in terms of viable alternatives? I like having an app on my tv, currently using a roku, to watch what I want. I don't want to stream via a laptop/PC and I don't want to go back to downloading torrents either.

I have heard of an app called Kodi which streams torrents to you. Is this a good option in SA ? How are the speeds, quality, etc? Or should I just go back to torrents?

Thanks for your help.

Simple:
Get Kodi
Then get exodus for kodi
Then get sportsdevil for kodi
Then get the kodi remote for your phone.
Then you're sorted!

I have been using getflix. No access to US netflix since 21 august.

What device are you using to access kodi? What's the service like to use?

I'm using an xtreamer but you can use any android media players or similar. Won't come pre loaded with kodi cos multi choice will try sue the supplier if they do so you'll need to dl it. Try Geewiz.co.za

It's epic- great interface and everything is up to date...

I use TV cast with my Chromecast.

With TV cast, any video on the Internet , you can play it on your tv with your tablet.

It doesn't mirror it, it merely sends the link of the video to your device and it plays it directly from the Internet.

It's available for Roku to. Try it.

Doesn't plex only work with content you already have?

Plex on it's own yes,but that's why I have the put.io channel added on my plex, just add any torrent you want into put.io and stream via plex to your tv.

Can promise you I am not the only one...they will be thousands...ready on the Getflix FB site how peeved off folks are and the same will be true on other smart DNS services sites. Anyway, I don't really care what they think...wait...you are trolling aren't you! No man :)

I can also reccomend Kodi.

I am running it off a miniPC I have dedicated for just that. I know its overkill, but the little asus revo one rl85 isa doing a splendid job.

I have no idea how you would set all of that up with Roku, but I think there is a guide on the Roku thread to do that.
