Can anyone recommend a place where I can get my hands on one of these?

A brand new one costs too much money.

Contact the University of Pretoria. They have a bunch of Cisco routers that I'm sure they replace every now and again. Speak to someone in the Engineering Faculty in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering
