So, I have an old (late 2009) iMac 27" sitting here. I use it for some AV stuff but would like to play with it as a second monitor for my MBP 2019 (2 x Thunderbolt 3) - Is there anywhere locally that I can get the cables/adapters to actually link these things up? I gather that I need:

Thunderbolt 3 -> Thunderbolt 2 -> iMac but finding the actual adapter and/or cable is proving interesting. All hints welcome :)

I think 2008 is too old. It was only after 2009 (I think) that they introduced Target Display Mode.

Maybe Duet Air ? I've been using Duet Display with my iPad as a 2nd monitor to my laptop. Air seems to be an annual subscription though, but it does have a 1 week trial

This.

The feature was only introduced late 2009 - it won't work. You'll be wasting money on adapters.
