Maybe someone with a k-jam can confirm this or maybe deny it.

I have had my k-jam now for about a month, excellent phone btw. I just have one problem, and am not so sure its the k-jam.

I am an mtn subscriber, and have been getting calls from my mates, that when I sms them, they receive sometimes 2-3 exact copies of the sms, sometimes immediately, sometimes over a span of time. Simple sms's like :"Thanks" would be duplicated over 2-3 sms's.

I have phoned MTN, and after stuggling for days, they got back to me and told me that its a virus on my cellphone. Well I have installed an anti virus (and slowed down the phone completely). But I still get it.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it perhaps a setting on the cellphone that I am missing, or is it MTN (oh gawd I hope its them, I am in the mood to tear them a new one)?

Gothan, have you updated to the latest ROM?
https://www.clubimate.com/t-kjam.aspx
Be sure to login first. Backup your contacts, files, etc. and update. You'll find it should fix your problems. (Essentially the latest ROM is a Service Pack for Windows Mobile)

BTW, you can see if you have the latest by comparing your ROM version in Settings | System | Device Information. The imate site will tell you which is their latest version.

Well i have checked my ROM version.

ROM Version: 2.16.9.1 WWE
ROM Date: 2/6/06
Radio version: 02.07.10
Protocal version: 413.1.03
ExtROM Version: 2.16.9.101

And that is currently the latest version on the site (if I am checking the correct page). Leaf.co.za also asked me this and they confirmed its the correct version

I've had the same problem for a while with MTN. I can confirm its not the phone because I've used 3 different phones on this number and it still occasionally happens. I'm pretty sure its MTN because I often recieve double messages from MTN numbers but not from the other networks.

Go rip them a new one :D

As per Rewind, it must be the network. Good luck having them sort it out. ;)

I think it is definitely MTN's problem.

3 of my friends that are on the MTN network have the same problem. And it isn't the phone that is problematic so you can remove that anti-virus.
