Hi All,
Just interested if anyone else has noticed this...
I am on a 512/256 IS Unshaped/Uncapped ADSL option, and have noticed that since Telkom introduced the "testing" of the 4096 downstream for the existing 1024 users, my line speed has dropped dramatically - during the day, I used to get a sustained downstream of about 48kb and an upstream of about 26kb. After hours it was around 63kb down/33kb up respectively. Since this above implementation, my speeds have dropped to about 40kb down/22kb up on average, day or night...
Question is, is this because of the increased usage/speed of the 1024 users, or is it possibly something else that's knackered? Just seems very strange to me that it should suddenly start happening once this "testing" phase was introduced. If the drop in speeds is due to this, then why should I be penalised with a speed decrease at the same cost? Or is this another Telkom initiative to rip off the public??? I'm currently paying close to R1700 + Telkom's "line rental" charges for this service and now the speeds have dropped!
If anyone else has noticed this, please comment, 'cos I'm tired of getting ripped off - not sure what I can do about it, but am sick and tired of paying through the teeth for a service and getting shafted by this monopoly every time...
Cheers,
HB
