I couldn't wait for the networks so I bought it on Saturday. The most striking thing about the E90 is the build quality, its easily the best constructed phone I've experienced.

From a size point of view, its smaller than the 9500 but slightly bigger than the 9300i. The dual screen setup works really well, allowing you to switch seamlessly from the outer screen (240 x 320) to inner screen (800 x 352). Its kinda like having two phones in one. I challenge anyone who enjoys surfing the web to browse with the E90 and then try going back to a smaller phone.

Picture and video quality from the 3.2 megapixel camera is good, GPS works well, sound is clear, battery life seems good and the device is generally quick and responsive.

On the down side...

Compared to Symbian Series 80, Series 60 (3rd Edition) is a bit dumbed down. However this is a software issue and will hopefully be addressed by firmware updates or 3rd party apps.

You are indeed a fortunate fellow. Please keep us updated on your impressions. I value the opinions of actual day-to-day users more (especially after extended use) than official once-off test reviews (by guys making a living out of ads).

Nokia Shop at Vodaworld - on the current batch they're asking R11 000, but I asked nicely and got it for R 9 500. I got no regrets, phone is everything I expected and more.

Exact Mall is selling for R8500 if you ask nicely.

I was originally planning on going that route but the Exactmall guy never got back to me. Then once I had my hands on this baby I didn't want to let her go. I justified the extra grand. I had waited patiently for a entire year, I couldn't wait any more.

In some crazy way I feel this phone is worth R9500 as it represents the ultimate in mobile technology. Of course you can wait a few weeks for the price to come down.

Btw I'm using the E90 to reply to this thread.

Hmm, it seems to occur whenever I browse back to this page, it prompts me "Do you wish to resubmitt this form?"

Guess I should say No...

It's unbelievable that Nokia are charging R 11k for the handset, they're making so much money.

Nokia shop guy claimed that R8500 was well below his cost price. Course he could of been s**ting me.

I must admit the E90 is highly impressive, even compared to the PDA phones out at the moment. But just waiting for the HTC Kaiser..... Seems like Nokia is beating every other brand to the draw, with innovation, design, style, features.... and software problems.

Iphone = No keyboard, Edge, 2 MP Camera, No Video, No GPS, 320 x 480 screen

Nokia E90 = Keyboard, 3G/HDSPA, 3.2 MP Camera, 30fps Video, GPS, 800 x 352 screen

I require keyboard, 3G, GPS, and supersexy widescreen... really its a no brainer.

A fairer comparison is possibly the N95.

iPhone = expensive toy; E90 = powerful mobile connectivity, productivity, business, navigation, (and entertainment) device.
