In need of good ADSL 20mbps

Hello guys,

I'm in need of good ADSL 20 Mbps that also has a good upload speed (5 Mbps preferred)

I'm currently on the LTE train but I'm moving to an area that doesn't have the Telkom LTE uncapped coverage.

Im looking for something in this line

5 + - Upload (average)
up to 20 Mbps download
Minimal FUP's
and in a good affordable ballpark range ( R 800 - R 1400)

Also, I need a router for this, any recommendations?

Any feedback will be appreciated...

ADSL wont give you that

ADSL 20Mbps has 1Mbps uplink
VDSL 20Mbps has 2Mbps uplink
VDSL 40Mbps has 3Mbps uplink.

FIBRE will at least give you the required uplink speed. I see that Murrayfield is planned for openserve Fibre.

Hi Faziki, first you’ll have to find out what’s available in White River. Hopefully you won’t be staying too far from the exchange, not more than 2 km, the resistance in the copper telephone wire kills the ADSL signal. 3 km away from the exchange might not work.

For starters, try the Telkom coverage map: https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/ucm/
Enlarge the map and click on your exact location, your exact street address, that you'll have in White River.

It should still work at 3km away, just will sync at a lower speed. as Mr Jax mentioned you wont get your required upload speeds through ADSL or VDSL. Fibre is your only way but people wont be available in your area.
