Inactive sim on 3G, Works fine on gsm

Okay, since yesterday afternoon i am having a teenie problem.

When my phone is in 3G mode, it says inactive sim, BUT as soon as i switch it back to gsm only it works 100%....

I still have 800MB left to be used this month, and now i have to work on gprs? WTF, MTN you need to fix this....

My sim cant be inactive as i use it to sms every day.

Maybe there is no longer a 3G signal in your area due to a tower problem. Or the 3G antenna in your phone is faulty. Have you tested with another phone?

I have inserted a vodacom sim in the phone and now i am blasting away at 3G speeds again.... ON VODACOM

Speaking of inactive sims,does contract users sim cards get disconnected if they dont use it ? I know prepaid users get disconnected if they dont make call.
