I need to some advice. My son was getting suggestive message from someone that got hold of his number and start to WhatsApp him. That was November 2020. He finally got the courage to tell me. We sent the messages to a family friend that is a detective. She advise him to block the person. I'm afraid he might be a target again for this person. Can't there be warning issue for the person not to contact him again? or must we wait until he is contacted again? any lawyer or someone that work with law please help.

There are some ****ed up people out there. Get him a new SIM card and with it comes a new number.

The new number he mustn't share.

Sounds easy

My (38 year old and married) daughter started getting similar message about 5 months ago

She cannot abandon her phone/number as she is a medical professional and receives calls and messages from all over the world

Various call blocker were tried and seem to be 95% effective. Many of the callers had a +7 prefix (Russia)

OP - get a new number and tell him to be judicious who whom he shares it with.

Any number can be nuked - it just takes a little more effort than some are willing to provide.

Have you looked up the name behind the number on Truecaller?
https://www.truecaller.com/search/za/xxxxxxxxxx
Replace xxxxxxxxxx with the number and put it in your browser bar. Use your gmail account to log in if you haven't already registered for Truecaller.... even better, create a disposable gmail account to log in to truecaller.
Otherwise just PM the number to me to check for you.

Set up a meeting with this person under the guise of being your son. Have the police or a baseball bat ready.
