Good points, I was just pointing out that it is very dishonest to lay all our inequality problems at the door of BEE, as much as the government failed spectacularly at that it does not explain the wage differences in the labour market for an example, we know that there are massive salary disparities that were never addressed by employers.
how narrow should the gap be in your opinion

ANC, EFF and BLF salivating over this bulldust no doubt.

That's because everything in this shithole is race-based and has a political agenda behind it.

Where are the surveys showing income inequality between black South Africans and themselves?

Sure rural South Africa is mainly black and dirt poor, and Waterfall corner is mainly black and wealthy as ****.

Mandela said to a kid at an airport, " if you study hard you can be president too"
We dont need equality, we need equal opportunities for all. Those who dont take it, fukk'em

You saying the factory worker and tge CEO does equal work?
I don't think that's what he meant. His post implied that people of different races employed in similar positions earn different salaries, is this a thing? I thought it only applied to AA candidates?

Agreed, and with your previous post.

For one thing, it doesn't help a cause to destroy one's own institutions of education - although in many cases it affects other races as well and seemingly prevalent at tertiary institutions at this point in time. Regardless, that alone surely begs to make a headline like this an actual reality and not just cherry picked twaddle for the purpose of instilling victimhood.

It is a thing even though steps have been taken to correct things, SOEs are mostly the culprits in this regard, I think we all understand why.
Telkom admitted to it not too long ago and even signed an agreement with organised labour to correct the disparities.

Like the crown jewel Eskom 'importing' ex-pats? What about financial institutions where new AA clerical staff where appointed at salaries equal to or higher than long standing employees. Or where an illegal alien (kid you not - removed by immigration once) ended up being his bosses boss - just to fix the numbers quotas?

At the end of the day, you are responsible for your life. If your employer is not giving you the remuneration you deserve, resign and move to an employer who will give you the same and pay more.

While it is true that pay inequality exists in the workplace, you have to fight for yourself... There are good employers who will pay you what you deserve and show commitment in investing in your growth... if you settle for less, that's your problem.
Equally, if you buy Audis and BMWs on balloon payments, bath in Johnie Walker Green and live in a rented R45,000pm Sandton pad, supporting 4 wives and 25 children on a meagre R88,000 pm salary, you are basically a d00s with no financial acumen just like your father zuma.

While I agree with the sentiment.. I also think it’s complete BS as you getting a job is not as easy you think even if you have a degree.

This reminds me of my spouse’s parents and my own parents who are of the opinion that one must just resign and move on.. where to? They dunno.. but move on because a job and career is just waiting out there for you.. I mean you can live on hopes, dreams and aspirations and your next employer will happily pay you market rate despite your salary slip of last job being 1/3rd of it.

In the above, they figured it was easy as educated people get jobs easily in the past.. so if you can’t get a job then u must not want it. LOL!

God.. I should really right a book with all my interview audio clips I collected over the years. My point is simple and brief, if you not living at home with parents or even if you are.. good luck with a resign and find a job on a whim that pays double.. haven’t seen that ever work and the times it has was due to networking, dorm buddy/club etc

Same for gender.. let’s not forget that women in SA really aren’t treated fairly. If I ever have a daughter and I am stuck in SA.. I’ll save up for her to leave the country permanently..misogyny makes the racial stuff look like a bad dream.

Perpetuating past racial categories is a bit stupid. Either collapse the "black, white, Asian, coloured, mixed" etc. categories into "human" or go granular one more level e.g.
Xhosa, Zulu, Afrikaans, British, Mixed (with all the different flavours), Chinese, South Korean and for coloureds.... Masekeenders.

Just refuse to be identified as "black, white, Asian etc." because these are too broad and essentially meaningless categories.

Not easy to answer that but paying people who do the same job equally would be a good start.
Communist BS. Two people that do the same job doesn't nessecery perform on th same level. People get paid what they are worth. And the employee should negotiate that with his employer.

Collective bargaining with unions and the idea of paying everyone that does the same job the same money is bad. Because it destroys the option to negotiate for better pay on a individual level. You think you are helping people out, but in reality you are only dragging everyone down to the lowest common denominator.

So there we are back at BEE and other overly burdensome government regulations.

People struggle to find jobs because unemployment is high. The economy isn't growing. Why is that?

Corruption, too much tax taking money out of the economy into some fat cats pocket and labour laws that's not friendly to business. All the communist nonsense that aims to make everything nice amd equal that is in fact just going the opposite or making everyone equally poor.
