I welcome all these new blood into South Africa. Let them come, all those Zimbabweans, Nigerians, Ghanians, Namibians etc. Let them come and feast. For a short feast it will be. Just like Animal Farm, once the pigs cement their rule, then ruin will follow.

With nothing being created, eventually the country will wither and die. Then all the pigs can starve at the trough.

All the smart people have left or are currently leaving South Africa. What will be left are the dreggs, the unwilling, the stupid, the delusional or the unfortunate. First there will be noise, then silence and finally the screams will start.

With what they have squandered, none of importance will care, none of means will give, none of conscience will bother.

From nothing, to nothing - the sands of time are relentless - and Atlas will shrug.

And they can accomplish this all without help from the whites.

I don't think Zimbabwe should or could be incorporated into South Africa. It's unfair for SA citizens to have to fork over their cash to support a country that we did not stuff up. To be quite honest, we have our own fair share of poverty and other problems to deal with. We are getting there slowly but surely (and I bet many a negative person is rolling their eyes at that). Once we have sorted out the majority of our problems, we can worry about the problems of our neighbours.

We had our opportunity to step in ages ago. We should have simply done whatever we could to oust Mugabe (even if that meant threatening him with military action...he would have realised he is literally surrounded by countries that don't like him). The time for that has now passed and only Zimbabwe can rebuild themselves. With a 94% unemployment rate, a skyrocketing inflation rate and 7 million people dependant on food aid - good luck to them.

I must say, however, that if we had a competent government able of turning things around (such as what the DA have done here in the Western Cape. I was amazed at Helen Zille's latest speech detailing improvements since they've come into power) Zimbabwe could be a potential gold mine for us. There's a big tourism factor, agricultural opportunities and much more. I doubt the ANC could do much unfortunately, as they have proved their incompetence by simply letting Zimbabwe get into such a state.
