HSDPA is capable of like up to 14.4 Mbit/s in the downlink as people know (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HSDPA) now when can we see manufacturers increase the speed modems can handle and networks are increased. Maybe a 3 Mbit connection?

Edited: Also any news on HSUPA from anywhere?

THe next speed step will be 3.6Mb/s with some handsets claiming support in the near future. On the network it will imply a number of upgrades.

Before we get a flood of replies; I agree, let's first get to 1.8Mb/s!

Will we need to upgrade our HSDPA cards again?

Not sure, will depend on the specifc manufacturer. Will start asking.

The 3.6Mb/s devices are beginning to be announced, so they'll start shipping in the next few months. Don't think we'll see anything on the network until next year some time.

Probably a month or three.

At least the data cards don't change as quickly as handsets.
