Hi,
I recently switched to Telkom uncapped up to 10Mb/s but can only download at about 450KB/s.
Last week I looked at my modem stats, and it said the attainable rate was 10Mb/s and my rate was 4096Kbps.
After phoning Telkom they told me my distribution point was only 4Mb, and they couldn't tell me when it would be upgraded. I was getting about 350KB/s download speeds then.
This week I check my modem stats and it says my attainable rate is now 23456Kbps and my rate is 10015Kbps. Also when downloading iOS7 it went really fast, and my apps updated very quickly. Speedtest showed around 8Mbps.
So I guess they have upgraded the Distribution Point.
However after restarting my modem after a power cut, it now only ever downloads at 450KB/s.
Is there a way to get it to go faster, seeing as though it was flying earlier this week?
I have the free wifi modem that Telkom supplies. It's the D-Link DSL-2750U.
Here are my line stats:
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
