Hey guys, i've returned a huawei to the incredible connection sandton store, then told me two weeks for a repair or replacement.

Its been a month now, and they still giving me the run around.

Any idea what i can do/ who i can contact?

They gave me a measly customer service email address which im sure will never be followed up on.

Any idea's would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mistake #1 - Using IC

Was the device less than 6 months old? If so they HAVE to give you the 3 R's option; Refund, replace or repair. And it is YOUR choice of which option to take. They can send the item off to be evaluated, but they can't dictate which option you have to choose.

BUT - if this is a device (phone, modem or tablet) that came as part of a contract then they have a loophole in the CPA legislation. When getting a device as part of a contract you never own the device, in part or fully, until the contract ends. You may pay a device fee every month but this is not part payment for the device. Only when the contract is done do you get ownership of the device. Hence the owner of the device (the network) can decide on the outcome.

It's 9 months old, bought cash - so i guess i dont have the 3 options then.

Yip after the 6 months your warranty is still valid, but you loose the option to specify which of the 3 R's you want. I'm not on facebook but apparently companies are a bit quicker to respond when you start posting on their site. Otherwise there is HelloPeter, but generally you get the Ctrl+C response.

You could wait in their store until some customers come in the store and then throw your toys, but you may have it wait a LONG time until there are more than 1 or 2 customers.

Have you been into the store?

Very easy to dismiss customers over the phone.

I've been to the store multiple times, they just say that their hands are tied until some company named 3g eventually tells them to give a new device or repairs it.

They should learn from Makro, bought an el cheapo tablet from them a year ago. A few weeks before the end of the warranty the thing just refused to charge, Took it back, they called me two weeks later to come pick up a replacement tablet, brand new. This was Makro in Cape Gate. They will definitely be seeing a lot more of me after that, I already buy most of my electronics by them, as well as doing my grocery shopping there. Never had anything but excellent service.

hey, its not a contract phone, it was a cash deal - but it has vodacom branded software.
All phones are sold with either a prepaid or a contract sim.

VC does not like it if people use other SIMs in phones they supply....

Call "3g" and ask them for a progress update.

If they say ask Incredible tell them you have and incredible say they are waiting on you.

Okay guys, so here's how I solved the problem and which seemed to work best.

Send a message to the guys on Facebook, they super responsive and created a complaint reference within minutes and i was contacted about 2 hours later, resolving my issue. Will be getting a new device within the next couple of days.

Thanks to everyone for their input, greatly appreciated.

It'll likely sit until warranty is up, then you'll get it back voetstoets lol.
But on a serious note, yes, social media is way better. Twitter/FB. It hurts them if they don't respond.
