The commentary doesn't make for pretty reading. Looks seriously tough out there. It's just about survival now. Even if they crawl to lunch at 40/1, that's fine. Batting will (should) get easier.

I am going to hold on to this ^ statement in order to have a semblance of hope. The movement is almost too much - and perhaps that's a good thing?

Man, he got worked over good this morning...might as well have had a blind person's cane instead of a bat.

That moment when you realise that Kagiso Rabada is your top scoring batsman. :crylaugh:

I suppose the next question is if it's too much and affects the balance of the game.

It does...whether it's in a positive direction or not is subjective. I'm not seeing much difference (in concept) between this and the dustbowls we played on in India and those pitches were not well-received by most people.

I guess we could say the pitch would be playing differently if there was sun around consistently and the rain had stayed away but it's the Highveld in summer...the groundsman should be expecting it.

If it is possible, at least, he is allowing the ball to age a little. Maybe that'll make it a little easier.

Totally agree. When I got home yesterday and was able to see how much the ball was deviating, it became apparent that this is a crap pitch. Nothing fair to either team to play in this sort of contest.

James: "Rabada has now faced 50 balls. That's 50 balls with the new ball that AB, Faf and QDK don't have to face. Good job for the team."

What a guy!

Just goes to show it's a mental thing. Bowlers don't stress when they're batting, naturally.

Bumrah to Rabada, no run, "lagi, lagi" [hit him] shouts Kohli as Bumrah pings Rabada near the box. Came back in sharply and rushed past the inside edge, may have been a glancing blow on the box, for Rabada showed no emotion

Kohli what a loser.
