Individual email notification bubbles

Hi Guys

Just got the Galaxy Note...awesome fone but coming from BB there is something I cant seem to work around...

I have found that if I add an email shortcut to my homepage, the general email app, which accesses all my accounts will display a little red circle showing how many unread emails I have.

However, if I add a specific email account by adding Shortcuts->Email, although I get the same icon, it does not show the number of unread emails.

I have three accounts I regularly use, and need to be able to see which has new email (as in the blackberry just upgraded from) - I could do without the extra strain of seeing I have emails, but then having to go into the app to see which accounts they are in.

Am I missing something here? The fact that you get the count in the first set-up makes me think it must be possible in the second...

I don't have a Galaxy Note, but I do know that you CAN get it to do what you want, by way of changing your email client or downloading the right widget. You can get these (most probably for free) from the Android Market.

That's the beauty of Android (and other REAL smartphone OS's) - you can customise it the way YOU want it and the way YOU need it. You just need to play around a bit, and do some searching on the Android Market (now called Play Store).

Having used ios, (and an apple fanboi) I am pretty impressed with android thus far.

I have tried k-9 mail client so far but still no notifications.

There should be a mail widget, that allows you to not only see, but actually read the mails from your homescreen.

It comes stock with ICS, not sure about gingerbread

After searching the Play Store, I came across the following which look like they might work:
- SMS Unread Count
- GO Email Widget
