Does anyone have one of those indoor trainers that attach to your bikes back wheel? How does it work, is it like a spinning bike, what sets the 'tension', etc.?

yup, its called a wind trainer. Read up on some reviews and definitely get a decent make. I have found mine has somewhat "warped" my frame, so try not to stick ur nice carbon fibre bike on it.

Its a damn good workout, but u need a fan or somethign near you, overheating is an issue.

I have a mountain bike :) Trek 4900 - I just thought it'd be useful for days when I can't get to muaythai or gym - cycling in front of the TV might work - also worried i get loose and plough through the TV.

Those little things are quite expensive. I rather bought an exercise bike, though it hurts my ass.

A decent spinning bike is 4k plus though... I see they had one of these wind things that attaches to a screen and plays pretty scenery for you as you cycle :p

Yeh - wonder what insurance would say :p
Them: "What happened to your LCD, sir?"
Me: "I cycled through it at 60km/h."
