Sorry necro

just wanted to find out if anybody with their innjoo phone suddenly experience reboots when calls/sms/WhatsApp come through?

Happens intermittently, but noticed it a few times,

Don't know if there's a upgrade I need to load?
Mine has been rock solid since purchase.

Just want to get some feedback from those still using the Innjoo. I am looking at getting my daughter a phone mainly for Whatsapp (her friends at school have started a group and my fiancé gets really annoyed with messages every few seconds).

We obviously not looking to spend alot and the phone will literally only be used for Whatsapp and the odd phone call when she is out. Maybe a game or two (she has a tablet for games tho).

Is there anything better out there cost wise or is this still the best option to go for?

Thanks.

I see it's priced at R1,299 atm and I doubt you'll find anything under R2,000 with comparable features.

I've been using mine since November and I'm still very happy.

The 220ppi screen's not the best in direct sun but it's fine for indoor use. My initial concerns about battery life have proved unfounded and I typically get around 36hrs before hitting 50%. Something that really impresses me is that this is the first android I've never had to pull the battery to resolve a problem.

Reckon I'll keep mine for a while before the yearning for a 5.5/6" screen becomes overwhelming :)

something interesting I just noticed, with my innjoo fire

what does your build number say?
(settings,about phone, at the bottom).

mine says, fire-android4-4-InnJoo-20150821-v1

but if you surf a bit the official innjoo site, there is a specific version released for us here in ZA,

http://www.innjoo.com/ProductDetail/Fire/Download?c=load

and seems there's another version (maybe more updated) for us here in SA

Fire-Android4.4-InnJoo-20150919-V1-RSA

does anybody have this version loaded on theirs?

also I wanted to check if anybody tried out some of the ROMS Available for this phone.
here is a Updated CM 12 version:

http://forum.innjoo.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=49460&extra=page=1&page=4

just wanted to check if anybody had any luck with loading ROMS?
I do distinctly remember checking the site after I got my phone, and don't remember it being there
also like Samsung, does the "update phone" feature not work here in SA?

Mine also with no updates available.

My innjoo hasn't given me any problems whatsoever since purchase so I'm more than happy to leave it original.

mine hasn't either, besides restarting sometimes if a call comes through.
seeing that a new version was actually released, is a bit of a shock to me, if Im honest,

as maybe they updated this phone to lollypop 5.1?

Hi Guys,

Not sure If I should post this here, but as I'm genuinely curious as to what my software SHOULD be,
I spoke to INNJOO support in Dubai, they gave me the contact details of their "agent" in SA,

thought Id be Helpful If i posted here for others to know,
Mods--can this be a sticky with this thread?

Mine has never rebooted itself.

I had constant problems with the WiFi. Returned it.

And have never experienced problems with WiFi.

so anyway guys, thought it be a good idea to at least post here what I have learned so far on dealing with innjoo support.

replacement (original) batteries cost R200,
and Replacement flip covers (like those that come with the phone) R100

no update necessary, just a few bug fixes for this phone on innjoo website,
warranty from the manufacturer is 1 year , not sure if takealot is longer?

all this from the contact I posted above, they based in Midrand, so not sure about CPT or DBN if they exist.

Hi Guys, thought Id ask again,

has anybody noticed any delamination of the screen? IE a spot in the middle of the screen that seems like its stuck to the glass?
and touches are not responded to in the middle.....

I mean I dont have any screen-protector on mine, and none fit this phone,

what would be the best way to deal with this?

It's not that big though, and the phone works ok, but there seems like a spot in the middle that's stuck to the glass,

Worth returning?

Wanted to ask if anybody here got something similar?

See it best to under sunlight.

Yes, it's worth returning...

Unless of course you want to lose value if you sell it or want to risk it getting worse

could it get worse? is it even possible? I didn't drop my phone or immerse it in any water,

would something like this even be covered? or should I try innjoo support in SA first.

its something similar to this, best way of describing it, I hope thats what its actually called (delamination)

Just return the phone to takealot and ask for a replacement - the phone isn't what it should be and should therefore be replaced.

Go to takealot directly, their after sales are very good

So anyway , thought I'd share my experiences with my issue,

Decided to not return my phone to Takealot, mainly thought that reinstall of all my apps and contacts might be too much of a schlep,

Also wanted to see how innjoo service compares to Samsung service,

So I emailed Eric at innjoo support, told me to come through, and a repair will be free and take 3 days,

Found the place, very well hidden inside waterfall office park, very hard to find,

Anyway, replaced my battery with a new unit, for free, just took down my s/n and told me the initial batch they sold in SA are faulty, so they under a recall.

So long story short, if you see strange spots or touch screen not working in certain spots, check if your battery inflated,
If it is, send it in, you get a new battery.

Must say this is impressive, considering how much grief Samsung put me through when my Samsung laptop and cell was broken.

None of that here, very impressive considering they so small and unknown in SA.
