JOHANNESBURG - A Durban man who spent 16 years in prison for crimes he did not commit is considering suing the state.

Sibusiso Blose was 28 years old when he was arrested in 2004.

He was jailed for murder, attempted murder and robbery after ballistic evidence that cleared him was overlooked during the trial.

The 44-year-old says he has lost the better part of his life.

That's ****ed up. People responsible will go about their lives without facing any consequences.

This is absolutely disgusting. So many real criminals and convicted murderers and rapists get sentenced and within a few years they are back out and re offend. This poor guy needs to be compensated for all his years in jail. He will never get the 16 years back. He needs to be awarded a large payout.

While this guy deserves every cent coming his way, it's the taxpayer footing the bill. Nothing will happen to those responsible

Pity about that. Even when murderers get released and murder again there is no recourse. Shocking.

Everyone who overlooked the evidence should go sit for 16 years , he should be awarded compensation at cost to those families of those involved , ie- loans taken against the families and footed by them even if it takes them generations to repay.

And they should lose their pensions to pay this guy out for wasting his life.
