Install live cd to Harddrive

Hi,

Is it possible to install a live cd to harddrive. I dont mean install the OS, i mean have the live cd on the HD instead of USB or cd so that when its get rebooted it back to the original state?

I want to have a linux install that no matter what gets installed or moved or deleted upon reboot the system is restored to its previous state. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Never tried it but Unetbootin has a option to write iso images to hard drive.
