The Installtion Technician is responsible for the installtion of internet services and associated hardware at 3rd party client’s sites and the implementation and support of the 3rd party sites that form part of the core business services of RSAWEB and its clients.
The Installtion Technician shall amongst other things be responsible for:
● Installation of Wireless/Microwave Links and Fibre products
● On site monitoring, support and being the liaison between RSAWEB & the client
● Prepare DSP’s (Detailed Site Plans) for new fibre and wireless site installtions
● Install the network infrastructure and equipment as per provided DSP’s
● Preparing and submitting of As Built Documentation for each completed installation
● Planning, setup and overseeing of RSAWEB and DFA conferences and tradeshows
● Monitor and maintain boot stock for installation team vehicles
● Responsible for the electrical and hand tool inventory to be used for onsite installations
● Data Centres duties – Cabling, preparing of cabinets, overseeing clients and contractors & generator testing
● Company Vehicle – maintenance and repairing, updating of Log Book, arranging collections and deliveries
● Assisting in general office maintenance required by management
Required Skills
● 1 - 3 years experience in IT Industry and medium network infrastructure implementation
● Relevant tertiary qualification a bonus
● 1 - 3 years Network administration
● 1 - 3 years Systems administration
● Sound knowledge of Linux, Windows, Opensource and Ubiquiti Systems and software
● Organised, punctual and professional
● Driver’s license and own vehicle
● Willingness to learn and grow with your team
