Not covered in the case of a flood??! Que? That's a bit of a stretch!
Only applicable if you installed a hydro plant. And you'd need a certified plumber for that on top of the electrician.
To clarify: You need a plumber as well The plumber does not need to literally be on top of the electrician, but there is a possible element of additional entertainment if he is.

It's a new fixture so obviously. My building insurance went up by like R45 so it's no train smash...

Thing about the regulations is they apply to mains power. Solar is by definition not mains and not regulated. So what does the policy say about an off grid installation that doesn't need to be certified?

My insurer simply asked for a copy of the CoC when the installation was completed. They did add the value of the equipment to the homeowners insurance. They were pretty on the ball.

someone I know, his insurance is upgrading his system, 3rd inverter, every time a better model.
