With this year's love letter about policy increases the broker has said " XXXXXXX has requested that a more detailed description of the client’s occupation be provided."

My current job description is as vague as possible - "admin/computers"

Shall I oblige or tell he to find another insurance company - I don't want to mention yet who they are.

nosy little buggers, but again anything to AVOID paying you out.

tell the truth, depending on your job environment, as they look for anything and everything to reject claims these days
see Insurance is a business, even with a Broker as so many on MYBB point out constantly.

Do you object that strongly to telling them what you do?
Yes, fsk 'em.

I was thinking of doing that except what Ninja'd says below.
Depends. If you're office or home-bound might not affect your premium. If you do call outs they might move you to a higher risk bracket.
Makes sense, I MIGHT go as far as telling them I'm office (home) bound but for the meantime I'm ignoring their request and if they push I'll take it up with the broker - she is amazeballs.

If a person does call-outs with their private vehicle but do not specify this, any claim deemed to be for work purposes will be disallowed.

All car insurers specifically ask if a vehicle is used for business purposes.

As Ninja said, it's for your premiums.
But I get it, when I'm asked to fill an address for home or work I usually write "None of your business"

Agree, but what difference does it make whether I'm sweeping floors or watching pron at work? Only thing that could affect premiums is travelling for work but how would that matter anyway.

True, this is definitely disclosed willingly.

They want details on admin/computers and I can't see why.

distance traveling to/From work, risk is different,
also do you do call-outs, again more "risk" to them is you involved in an accident carrying tools/stock ect.

quite surprised they asking you this, mine never has, but who knows with Naked,
they just say no to all claims and thats the end of that.

Its part of a insurers underwriting criteria

If you don't disclose the next thread will be insurer decline claim due to non disclosure

Yes, you might pay increase rates if you work in a risky environment so worth just saying you do a boring job.

until you are in an accident then they deny your claim based on the fact that you used your car for "business"

Thanks, you seem to know about these things - how much and what info do they want. I've already stated admin/computers - that's what I do. No lies, no cover ups.

This is the thing - I do work in a boring environment but it's enjoyable.

Nay man @Tman* I don't use my car for business and happily disclosed that.

Also have the car insured while anybody is driving it - I pay extra for that.
